Etihad airway was established in July 2003 through a Royal order of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. And it’s working under the complete ownership of Abu Dhabi’s government. It operates in 110 destinations across 6 continents and has a fleet of more than 120 aircrafts. And operates 1300 flights in a week. Its head office is Abu Dhabi International airport. In 2016 Etihad airways was declared to be a 5-star airline by skytrax. For three consecutive years 2009, 2010 & 2011 Etihad airways has won “World’s leading airline Award” at world travel awards. Etihad airways currently serve 87 destinations in 55 countries.
Etihad Airways Baggage Information
The check-in desk opens 4 hours before the scheduled departure time and for economy class it closes 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time where as a privilege for business class passengers is that their check in desk closes with 15 minutes relaxation, 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
Etihad airways allow passengers to carry baggage of 32 kg as a part of their free baggage. However for the passengers travelling to or from Canada/USA can carry a baggage with maximum dimension of 158cm. Where-as passengers travelling to or from other destination can carry baggage with a maximum dimension of 207 cm. Passengers with infants travelling on Etihad airways can take 1 bag of 10 KG on their seat if they are travelling from GCC to Indian subcontinent whereas if they are travelling anywhere else they can carry 1 bag of 23 KG.
For the passengers travelling in economy class it is permissible to take one bag of maximum 7 KG as their hand carry. And passengers of business class and 1st class can carry hand baggage of 12 kg maximum. A hand baggage of 5kg can be carried on account of infant.
